  • Animal ID#: A787260
  • Dog Name: Ellie
  • Dog Sex: Female
  • Approximate Age: 13 years
  • I love to play fetch!
  • Here’s what a volunteer had to say about Ellie after a fun day out:
Ellie was SO good with the leash. She stayed right next to us for a walk most of the time, and even when we went for a light jog. If she is walking ahead of me, she would look back and slow down to stay close to me. She is a sweet dog and greeted happily but calmly when other people approached her. She showed a small interest when she saw another dog from afar, but she remained calm. She LOVED the treats we got her! Overall, we had an amazing and peaceful time with her. Thank you so much for the experience.
  • More from another volunteer: Ellie was an absolute pleasure to have for the day! We went to the river park and she explored everything except for the water.  There were geese around and she completely ignored them.
We bought dog treats for her and she took them so gently!
We spent a few hours at home and she was a proper lady. She let us know when she needed out and didn’t chew on anything. It is clear a comfy bed and couch are a high priority for her because she jumped right up and caught some zzz’s.
Overall she just seems to have a very gentle soul.
  • Yet another rave review: A senior sweetie.  Gentle on leash, gentle taking treats from my hand, and easy to lift in and out of the car.  Hope she finds a loving home soon.

The dogs are keeping us busy so we’re a little behind, please submit an application to our adoption counseling team for more information about Ellie.

Meeting Dogs at the Shelter

The shelter’s kennels are loud, stressful places for dogs. Some dogs express that stress by exhibiting behavior inside a kennel that they will not show otherwise. Please ask to take the dog you are interested in to a play yard and spend some time getting to know him or her in that more relaxed environment. For more information on meeting dogs at the shelter, please read this article.
