Paloma

SSPA’s Dog’s Day Out program makes a difference in the lives of companion animals by ensuring they get plenty of exercise, attention, and exposure to environments outside of the shelter, all while putting smiles on the faces of the people who share this experience with them. • Here’s what volunteers have to say after  Dog Days Out with Paloma:
Paloma is a sweet, shy girl who stole my heart.  Walked very well on leash and knew a couple of commands, like sit and down.  She seemed to always check in with me to make sure I was there.  Loved her puppuccino! She ignored other dogs and just needs someone to help build her confidence and love her.Paloma was a perfect angel. She was very shy at first but warmed up really quickly & started giving lots of kisses. She was so good in the car. We got to the river & she was so excited smelling everything & even got in the water. She would keep looking up at you to make sure you were okay. Took her to Starbucks to get a puppuccino & she loved it. This girl has so much potential & love to give. I absolutely fell in love.

We came to my house and she played and played.  She loves to fetch with the ball and play with toys.  We went for a walk to the park.  She’s so great on a leash and likes to play fetch.  She came inside the house and explored.  Very well behaved.  She even waited to be invited inside before she came in.  Why does this girl not have a home yet??  Such a sweet soul.

Paloma is quite the loving lady.  Perfect in the car, smelled all the things at the river, and was quite the hit at Starbucks and Petco.  She is so well behaved, wasn’t bothered by other pups and critters, and keeps her eye on you for approval. This well-behaved girl is ready for love and a good squeaky toy.

Meeting Dogs at the Shelter

The shelter’s kennels are loud, stressful places for dogs. Some dogs express that stress by exhibiting behavior inside a kennel that they will not show otherwise. Please ask to take the dog you are interested in to a play yard and spend some time getting to know him or her in that more relaxed environment. For more information on meeting dogs at the shelter, please read this article.
