Unfortunately, a lot of insurance carriers don’t offer home owners, renter, or dog liability insurance if families have certain breeds of dogs. Even though visual breed identification is notoriously unreliable, insurers will discriminate against dogs for how they look, not how they behave. Fortunately, there are insurance carriers who know better.
Below are some insurance options:
OPTION 1- A POLICY THAT WILL ONLY COVER YOUR DOG(S)
We highly recommend getting an estimate to only cover your dog(s) through Dean Insurance Agency. Quotes may take 2-3 days once they get your application. They have policies with very broad coverage for reasonable cost and can provide limits up to $300,000.
Contact them at 800-721-3326 ext 1 or by email firstname.lastname@example.org an application and quote.
OPTION 2- A POLICY THAT WILL ONLY COVER YOUR DOG(S) THROUGH EINHORN INSURANCE
Like Dean Insurance Agency, Einhorn Insurance can help you with a policy that will just cover your dog(s). These policies usually start at $50/mo+ per dog (depending on your situation and amount of coverage) and require a $200+ down payment. Coverage amounts available are $25,000, $50,000 and $100,000.
